I am safely home & well for Thanksgiving break! I spent the day doing loads of laundry and working on these cuties. Tomorrow all of my mom’s family is getting together for my Papa’s 65th birthday. I’m so excited to hang out with everyone & take some pictures!
For the event, I made these lovely Reese’s filled brownie owl cupcakes with Oreo & Reese’s pieces eyeballs…now that’s a mouthful. They’d be a great addition to your Thanksgiving dessert spread. The kids always need a fun chocolate option & these owls are just perfect. So much simpler than I had imagined too!
Here’s how easy it is-
Grab a box of brownie mix, a pkg. of 12 Reese’s, Oreos, Reese’s pieces, & a tub of chocolate frosting.
Prepare the brownie mix according to pkg. directions.
Line a muffin tin with 12 cups.
Drop a spoonful of brownie batter into each cup.
Unwrap all 12 Reese’s & do not eat any because you need them all!
Now place a Reese’s in each muffin cup right on top of the brownie batter.
Then bury the Reese’s in another dollop of batter.
Bake brownies according to pkg. directions.
Let cool & remove from pan.
Frost those babies!
Now this part is probably the hardest. Separate the Oreos. You will need at least 24. I
wasted ate quite a few broken Oreo’s trying to pull them apart. I used a knife & it worked out pretty great. Place two of them side by side in the middle of the cupcake.
Use a tiny bit of icing to attach the Reese’s pieces for eyes. Stick one halfway into the cupcake for the beak too. Lastly, use the tip of a knife to spread the icing onto the wrapper above both Oreos to create the ears.
Hopefully everyone else will too. They would be excellent with a scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on top. Can’t wait to break into these tomorrow!
Hope your Thanksgiving week is off to a good start y’all!
