So being new to the whole having-a-house-to-decorate-for-Christmas thing I had no idea how pricey nice stocking hangers can get. I went by one of my go -to stores & found the “cheap ones” were proudly priced at $15 a piece. I think I literally gasped. So I left & headed to the Dollar Tree where I found 3 terribly ugly stocking hangers for only a dollar each. (Yes, I totally got the dog her own stocking) But, Oh I had plans you see.
I started out with these.
Santa dancing on skates with a glittery wreath around his neck & a candy cane in his hand…No thank you! Santa had to go.
I popped the Santas off by hand then used a regular butter knife to pop off the rest. That was the hardest part of all & took some effort. A man would have been helpful to have around at this point.
Now I’ve grabbed up these adorable chalkboard signs from the Target One Spot where they were $3 each.
Simply add some hot glue, apply a little pressure & you’ve impressed everyone with you new, cute/trendy stocking holders. Plus they’re a fraction of the cost of much more plain, simple, boring stocking holders.
I am completely, utterly in love with these stocking hangers! They couldn’t have turned out better & only took about 10 minutes to make.
Can’t beat it for $4 a hanger! My main holiday colors are silver & gold too; so they match perfectly.
I hope you enjoy the project as much as I did!
