I have 3 younger cousins who I wanted to ask to be my Jr. Bridesmaids. All the older girls got asked to be bridesmaids in a fanciful way so I wanted to do something special for the younger girls as well. They’re all into crafts & pinterest so I thought this would be the perfect surprise!
I gathered some items to make them each their own little craft kit-everything they needed to decorate a pretty headband to wear on the big day…plus a few fun extras, of course.
I used stationary that coordinated with everything & were similar to the bridesmaid boxes, which I’ll be sharing next!
A card was attached to the outside of each kit asking them to join the wedding party. I slid a couple notes inside explaining the purpose of the contents of the box as well as what they should wear & what they get to do etc.
The boxes were filled nail polish, a ring pop, earrings to wear on the wedding day & everything they needed to diy their headband- a plain headband, burlap flowers, a mini hot glue gun & hot glue sticks.
I used small, takeout boxes & tied them up with plenty of pretty ribbons they could use on their headbands if they wanted.
Quite honestly, the “pre-teen” gals reacted with so many more shrieks, shrills & giggles than the bridesmaids did. Ha! Their reactions were my favorite. I can’t wait to see how they each create their own headband!
You could go a few different ways with this idea- make craft kits as party favors, put together larger ones for gifts, or use them like I did to ask your jr, bridesmaids! Why not ask the grown up bridesmaids this way too? Everybody loves a good craft night. My only advice- keep it simple!
