House Party

Now that I’ve shared how I asked my bridesmaids & jr. bridesmaids to join the wedding party, it’s time to share about my house party!

This is totally not what you’re thinking. No party in no houses here, at least not this time. The house party is actually an old, southern tradition quite popular in Texas & even more popular in Houston. Generally, it’s just an extension of your bridal party. It’s a great way to include more of your loved ones & dear friends in your big day. Read this article on Southern Weddings for more info! I love old, southern traditions & I wanted to include so many more girls than I’m able to have stand up at the alter with me, so this was the perfect solution! I sent all the girls in my house party a set of pretty papers explaining the whole thing & asking them to join.

The first page simply asked the question, so & so will you be in my house party? Then the second sheet explained what a house party was. The last sheet included all the wedding details, just like the one in my bridesmaids boxes, but smaller & with some different info.

Here’s what the middle sheet looked like in case you’re still lost as to what a house party is…

Now let’s see how I put them together!

I made all the sheets in pic monkey & printed them onto white card stock. I sized each sheet so you could layer them & still see the titles. A paper cutter came in handy here y’all!

This page is definitely the most useful!

I used these burlap hearts to tie up the finished sets. Found them at Michaels!

So love the layered stack of pretty papers!

I wrote each girl a personal note on some pretty not paper (Target One Spot) & slid it behind the other pages.

I tied each finished set up with bakers twine & the burlap heart.

I’m so in love with the finished product! I stuffed them into gold envelopes & used the silver stickers for sealing. I used a silver marker to address the envelopes & sent them off to their recipients!

I’m having so much with this stuff you guys!

Blessings Y’all,

PS: Linking up at some of these great places, check ’em out!
