Happy Sunday folks! I hope everyone’s thoroughly enjoying the official last day of summer! I am so ready for fall over here. I’m ready to bust out the pumpkins first chance I get. Plus I am so over this heat & unfortunately, we most likely have a couple more months of it before it really cools off.
I have no children & I am not a teacher, nor am I going back to school tomorrow (Praise the Lord!). However, I can still appreciate these “Back to School” treats & I’m sure you can too!
Last year I made chocolate covered pumpkin pretzels for Halloween…
So, understandably, I now have to make them for every season.
You only need 3 ingredients- mini pretzels, M&M’s, & red candy melts.
Start by melting the candy chips according to the package directions in the microwave.
Quick while it’s melting separate out some green & brown M&M’s to use as stems. This was very hard for me because the green M&M’s are my favorite.
Now that everything’s ready it’s time to dip or be dipped. I used a fork to dunk each pretzel in the chocolate. Or whatever it is. I don’t think it’s really chocolate at all.
Lay on a baking rack to dry or parchment paper & immediately top with an M&M. Let them fully dry & ta-da apples!
You’ve got apples that are so much tastier than the real deal!
Here’s the handy printable if you want in on that too!
PDF- First Day of School
Brighten up someone’s back to school week with a batch of delicious chocolate covered pretzel apples!
Give these to every teacher you know, they’re going to need them by the end of the week! You could even make them for an after-school snack or special lunch surprise. Or you can make them for yourself just because, like me!
- 1 bag mini pretzels
- 1 large pkg M&M’s
- 1 pkg red candy dips
- In microwaveable bowl, melt candy dips according to package directions. Separate enough green & brown M&M’s to use for stems. Use a fork to dip pretzels into melted chocolate & set on baking rack or parchment paper. Immediately, press an M&M onto the top of each pretzel. Let dry until hardened.
Go get to melting that chocolate!
