Mealey Wedding Details Part IV- Lounge Area & Lawn Games

I’ve always loved the idea of having fun, lawn games out & about for guests to help themselves to at weddings. So we did the same thing! I bought a few few from Oriental Trading & Academy, used some we already had & rented one from the same place we got our chairs & pews.

I love the idea of lawn games for several reasons-  they give guests something to do if they’re not into dancing & get bored, it’s a great icebreaker, the perfect way to keep your younger guests busy, & it serves as an awesome transition area between the ceremony & reception.

We created a circle of sorts with various pieces of outdoor/ “lounge” furniture encompassing all the lawn game areas.

We set up a handful of hay bale couches too! They have seating on both sides. Each arrangement took 7 bales- 4 laying across the bottom to form the seat with 3 standing up in between them to create the backs. They were covered with random pillows & old quilts. Kind of wishing we would’ve taken a photo sitting on one now!

The games were scattered across the lounge area & I used chalkboard arrows (Target One Spot) & some vinyl to mark each area.

We even prettied the area up with some extra centerpieces. You can read up all about my centerpieces in this post!

Here’s some great shots of guests enjoying the area!
