I know we’re probably all on the same page at this point concerning the status of plaid for this fall/winter. It has captivated my heart. I even shared a dozen of my favorite plaid pieces from Target the other day, here.
I’ve really been wanting to incorporate it into some crafts around the house for decor, etc. So first up, I thought a simple rag garland would work.
I love the plaid in my garland! I honestly want to make a ton more & can’t wait to put together some Christmas versions. Rag garlands are such an easy craft, even for those of you who don’t like to craft very often. This is an easy one & it doesn’t take long at all. I made 2 last night while watching my latest Netflix addiction.
All you need is some plaid fabric & a few others if you want to mix in multiple fabrics, twine & a pair of scissors (these just happen to be my favorite pair…I wonder why?).
Cut up all your fabric into strips, then tie ’em on! You don’t even have to think while doing this project. You can get into whatever you’re watching & get some mindless work done.
I have a full rag garland tutorial over here for step by step instructions.
The first one was looking awfully lonely.
So I made him a coordinating friend! Aren’t they adorable together?
I love how you can customize a rag garland for any project. It also works great for using up those scraps you keep stashing away. The plaid is what really gets me here though.
**I’m dubbing the gather pillow the official pillow of the season. It literally shows up in every other picture on my Insta feed. So I had to get one for myself, of course.

Happy garlanding friends!
