Frozen pizza is a known staple in our house, as I’m sure it is in most of your homes! It’s our go to on a busy night or for a quick lunch/snack. They always taste good & they take no prep work whatsoever. While I absolutely adore to cook a super nice meal, sometimes I just really want a frozen pizza that heats itself up!
That doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun with a side salad & fancy things up with some easy peasy dipping sauces.
This time of year especially, frozen pizzas are a hero. Everyone is crazy busy, we’re all going different directions at different times & there is so much to be done!
It’s also a time we like to enjoy each other’s company & relax in the midst of the craziness. A simple meal can really pull these things together.
For this easy dinner I chose Red Baron® 5 Cheese & Garlic French Bread Pizza Singles from Walmart. That thick french bread crust makes them perfect for some hearty dipping! I got those guys into the oven then started on some sauces- chipotle ranch, garlic butter & creamy alfredo.
For the chipotle ranch you need ranch dressing, sour cream, dried minced onion & ground chipotle. Mix together 1/3 c. of ranch, 1/3 c. sour cream, 1/2 tsp. ground chipotle & 2 tsp. dried minced onion.
For the garlic butter you need butter, garlic powder & salt. This sauce requires you to clarify the butter. Which means you’ll need to melt down a stick of butter in a small saucepan. Once it becomes frothy, discard the foam on the top using a spoon. Remove the gold liquid in the middle & set aside. Discard milk solids in the bottom of the pan. Mix 2 tsp. garlic powder & 1/8 tsp. salt into clarified butter.
For the creamy alfredo you need cream, butter, parmesan cheese & ground pepper. Mix 1/3 c. cream with 1/3 c. butter on the stove & simmer for 5 min. Turn off heat & stir in 1/3 c. parmesan until melted. Add 1 tsp. of ground black pepper. This makes just enough to be used as a dipping sauce, if you’re going to make it to serve over pasta, use equal amounts of all three ingredients- butter, cream & cheese.
Now that the sauces are prepped, let’s chop some lettuce! For this salad, I like big chunks of lettuce. Almost like mini wedge salads. I serve it with the best tangy dressing
For the tangy dressing add 2 Tbs. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1/3 c. apple cider vinegar & 2 Tbs. canola oil to a jar & shake before serving. Toss with salad.
For a dressed up holiday version, I added cherry tomatoes. As I plated the salad I arranged the chunks of lettuce in the shape of holly leaves then clustered cherry tomatoes at the base, as the berries. It’s a super easy way to spruce things up & make dinner extra special this time of year.
Now that everything’s ready, serve your family’s favorite Red Baron pizza alongside the salad & arrange the sauces for easy dipping.
This dinner comes together so quick!
