Good Morning lovely friends! Memorial Day is coming up this weekend & I’m so excited to be bringing in the red, white & blue! There’s just something about classic, seasonal decor that gets me. I didn’t do much patriotic home decor last year due to our wedding in June. So I had a lot of fun working on it this time around.
Let’s stat in the entryway shall we?
Dressed things up a bit in here with some wooden letters from the Target one spot, some hangers from Hobby Lobby (last year) & some vintage baskets (thrift stores). The photos in the frames just happen to go with the red & blue too!
The living room is my favorite spot right now!
For some reason, I thought you guys needed to see individual photos of each couch & the assortment of throw blankets/pillows lol.
All of the pillows, with the exception of the cowhide (Walmart) are from Target.
All the America ones are from their dollar spot.
I had a lot of fun with this mantel mixing all kinds of things- old, new, inherited, thrifted, diyed & Target one spot.
The small stars, America tray, flag banner & one of the paper stars are from Target. The bigger, white star is from Hobby Lobby. You can find those just about anywhere right now.
The candlesticks were my great-grandmothers & the coke bottles are ones I’ve collected over the years. Thought they were very “americana.”
A stack of coordinating books elevates a vintage mason jar that my grandmother gave me & a rusty, red lantern I bought at an antique store a few years ago.
The wooden flag is my favorite piece on the mantel! I make & sell tons of wooden signs at the boutique I work at, so I decided to make one for myself! I didn’t even put stars on it- mostly because i was too patient to wait for it to dry. This rusticness is totally my fave. There’s nothing perfect about it.
Had to toss last year’s dollar spot pillows somewhere! So in a basket they went.
A little collection of paper goods & straws on the bar. This will probably be updated closer to the fourth as well. Aren’t those little flag picks just perfect though!?
I wanted to find a printable for the kitchen & did some pinteresting where I found this fab print at Kiki & Company. Sadly, this matches all the Target one spot stuff exactly. I bought some of their magnetic list pads & the designs are literally exactly the same, with different words inside. I have seen them replicating ideas from so many bloggers & etsy makers lately. It’s so sad! Unless of course, these bloggers/designers are working with Target, which has not been the case, this is so not okay!
Another favorite part, my candy jars! I was inspired by someone else’s Instagram over Christmas to do the naughty (holiday Oreos) & nice (cuties oranges) jars. I wanted to continue the look so I did hugs & kisses for Valentine’s Day. They came back out for Memorial Day/Fourth of July as stars & stripes! The stars are saltwater taffy I grabbed at Bass Pro because of the adorable packaging. The stripes are obviously Twizzlers. After I bought these ones, I saw red, white & blue Twizzlers somewhere else. So I may have to go back for those! You can use anything for the “stars” though. I was planning on using M&M’s or something similar before I found the taffy.
Add in some little flags everywhere you can for an easy, festive touch!
Do you decorate for the summer holidays? I loved doing it & think I’ll make it an annual thing!
PS- Linking up at some of my fave places, check ’em out!
