This is a fabulous post for a Monday morning, full of joy & chocolate & deliciousness! The only thing that could be better is if I was delivering them to you for a second breakfast this morning.
Alas, while I can’t make that happen, these are so simple, you can totally whip up a batch at home! It only takes 3 ingredients!
I like to do this with mini candy bars so you can pick a few flavors & everyone can try them all!
To make your own, pick up your favorite mini candy bars from the grocery store, pick out new flavor to try too! While you’re there grab a gallon of LouAna Peanut Oil & your go-to pancake mix.
Unwrap your candy bars & place them in the freezer while you wait for the oil to heat up. Mix up your pancake batter in the meantime. Once the oil is ready (you can test by dropping in a small bit of pancake batter), begin dipping the candy bars into the batter one at a time then immediately placing in the hot oil. these cook super fast y’all, about 30 secs per side is all they need. So keep an eye on them. Remove as they turn golden brown & drain on paper towels. You can top them with powdered sugar, whipped cream, chocolate syrup or ice cream! We tried powdered sugar & whipped cream & they were absolutely delicious that way!

- LouAna Peanut Oil
- mini candy bars
- pancake mix + required ingredients
- optional toppings: powdered sugar, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, ice cream
- Unwrap candy bars & place in the freezer.
- Pour 2" of LouAna Peanut Oil in a pan & turn heat to medium-high.
- Mix up pancake batter according to package directions.
- Remove candy bars from freezer.
- Dip candy bar into pancake batter & place immediately into the pan of hot oil.
- Let each side cook or about 30 seconds, until golden brown.
- Remove & place candy bar on paper towel to drain.
- Continue with all candy bars.
- Add desired toppings & serve immediately.
- Cast iron works great for frying, but any pot/pan will do.
