Goodmorning Y’all! I am so excited about today’s post!
I was browsing Pinterest (follow me here!), for party inspo for my niece’s Woodland One-derland when I saw sets of gorgeous deer antlers. I immediately knew we NEEDED to make her a set for the party! Well, I made 2 pairs, because her big sister needed some too. While these were awesome for our woodland themed party, they would amazing for Halloween costumes too!
I’m seriously considering making myself a pair & going as a cute little deer for Halloween! These antler headbands are too tempting!
The best part is, you can totally make them at home!
Forage for supplies! You need a headband, obvs, “antlers” cream & tan colored felt, faux flowers & greenery + hot glue. The antlers in this photo are cotton stems with the cotton boll removed. In a picture below we just used twigs from the yard.
The heaviest thing to attach will likely be the antlers. I used extra felt scraps to help secure them. I cut a long strip about 1’2″ wide & wrapped it around the base of the antler, securing with hot glue. This made the base of the antler wider & easier to attach to the headband. I hot glued the antler to another piece of scrap felt first, then glued that onto the head band.
For the ears, cut shapes from cream colored felts & layer, securing with hot glue. I used 3 different colors of felt, but only 1 is necessary. I attached those the same way as the antlers. I hot glue the ear base to a strip of felt & then hot glued the strip of felt to the headband. Be sure your ears are lined up on both sides before gluing.
Now you can add on your florals! Use your hot glue gun to attach flowers & greenery to the front of the headband.
Here’s a photo of the backside for reference.
At the last minute I added these mini flowers to the ends of the antlers & I think it makes it 1,000,000 times cuter! Details for the win!
Don’t Forget to pin it for Later! —>
Isn’t she darling in them?!
