Crafty Christmas Gift Bags

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hobby Lobby. The opinions and text are all mine.

I love nothing more than buying, wrapping & giving Christmas presents! It’s so much fun to bless others & see their reaction! I typically tend to go over the top with the wrapping too. I like to get extra creative & come up with fun ways to wrap the gifts. Extra points if it’s 2 gifts in 1, like a cute tote wrapping a sweet present.

I made 2 fabulous bags for gifting using supplies from Hobby Lobby! The first is a buffalo plaid painted tote with sequined “merry.”

To make this one you need a tote from Hobby Lobby. You can find them in the wearables section of the store. You also need fabric paint in your choice of colors. I went classic with black & gray. Grab some sequined ribbon from the ribbon aisle in the fabric section too!

Start by painting one gray stripe down the middle of the bag & fill in from the middle out, until the bag is covered in proportioned stripes. I did 4 stripes along my bag.

Next, connect the stripes with more stripes going across the bag. Use the same gray paint.

When the gray paint is dry, paint black squares where the gray paint meets. This creates your plaid effect. Let completely dry.

Use a pencil to sketch the word “merry” or word of choice in cursive on tote. Use jewel glue or hot glue to attach sequin ribbon over word. Trim end of ribbon.

Now it’s ready to fill with a gift & place under the tree!

The second giftable bag I created was a nutcracker tote!

To make this bag, you need a rectangle tote from Hobby Lobby & felt in your choice of colors/patterns.

This bag might look tricky, but all it is, is lots of rectangles cut out of felt. It’s so easy to replicate & a fun craft for older kids!

Here’s a picture of what you’ll need to cut. Choose your own colors!

Measure pieces according to the size of your bag. Trace if necessary & cut.

Once all of your felt pieces are ready, attach with fabric glue. Add more detail if you like & try other shapes too!
